WhatsApp alerts โ new leads and handovers on your own WhatsApp
A paid add-on that sends you a WhatsApp message when your chatbot captures a lead or a customer asks for a person.

What WhatsApp alerts are
WhatsApp alerts is an add-on for the Starter, Pro, Business and Founding plans. When your chatbot captures a lead, or a customer asks to talk to a person, Pivra sends a short message to your own WhatsApp from Pivra's WhatsApp Business number (display name "Pivra").
What it is not: it is not a WhatsApp chatbot, and your customers never message this number. To let customers chat with your business on WhatsApp, use the WhatsApp channel on Pro and above. The channel uses your business's own WhatsApp number, connected through Meta or Twilio; WhatsApp alerts come from Pivra's number and need no Meta or Twilio account.
WhatsApp alerts are sold country by country. The WhatsApp alerts card in Settings โ Notifications tells you if the add-on isn't available in your workspace's country yet.
Price and monthly alerts
The add-on has one monthly price and a monthly number of alerts, which depend on where your workspace is. The WhatsApp alerts card in Settings โ Notifications shows your workspace's price and monthly alerts before you buy, and then how many you have used this month. The pricing page lists the add-on's prices for each region too.
The add-on is charged in the same currency as your plan, Australian dollars or US dollars. Australian-dollar prices exclude GST: the card shows "+ GST" beside the amount, and Checkout shows the GST before you pay. In India the add-on is billed in US dollars, so your bank may add a foreign-currency fee.
Buying and cancelling
- Go to Settings โ Notifications.
- On the WhatsApp alerts card, choose Add WhatsApp alerts (only the workspace owner can buy it).
- Pay in the secure Stripe checkout. The add-on renews on the same day as your plan, so the first charge covers only the days until then (with less than a week to go, nothing is charged until your plan renews). A Founding workspace without a recurring plan subscription renews monthly from the day it buys.
To cancel, choose Cancel add-on on the same card, or use Manage subscription in Billing. Alerts continue until the end of the period you have paid for, then stop. If your plan is cancelled, the add-on ends with it.
WhatsApp alerts can't be added during a paid-plan trial. You can add them once your trial becomes a paid plan.
Linking your WhatsApp number
Pivra never asks you to type a number. Instead, you message Pivra:
- On the WhatsApp alerts card, read the consent text, tick the box and choose Turn on WhatsApp alerts.
- Choose Open WhatsApp. WhatsApp opens with a message ready to send, for example
Turn on Pivra alerts: 7KQ4MZ2D. On a computer, copy the message and send it from your phone instead. - Send it from the WhatsApp account that should get the alerts. The code works once, for 30 minutes.
- Pivra replies to confirm, and the card shows your number masked, for example +61 โขโขโขโข 0156.
Why it works this way: your message proves you hold that WhatsApp number and records your consent on WhatsApp itself. It also means Pivra never sends a first message to a number that has not written to it. No SMS code is needed, so it works in countries where business SMS is filtered.
To change the number, choose Use a different number and link the new one the same way. The old number stops getting alerts once the new one is linked.
What an alert contains
A new-lead alert looks like this:
New lead from Wilco Plumbing assistant.
Name: Priya
Contact: +61 491 570 156
Open your Pivra dashboard to follow up.
A handover alert says a customer chatting with your chatbot asked to talk to a person, with their first name and one contact detail if they gave them, and a Reply button that opens the conversation for 72 hours without signing in.
An alert contains only your chatbot's name, the customer's first name, one contact detail (their phone, otherwise their email) and a link. It never contains what the customer wrote, the conversation, the page they were on, their full name or any other form field.
Stopping, pausing and removing
- Reply STOP (or tap Stop alerts) on any alert. Alerts stop at once for that number in every Pivra workspace it is linked to. To turn them on again, link your number again from Settings โ Notifications.
- Pause WhatsApp alerts on the card stops them until you resume.
- Remove number deletes the number from your workspace.
- The two switches turn off new-lead alerts or handover alerts (including the reminder) separately.
Replies other than STOP aren't read. To answer a customer, use the Reply button or your Pivra dashboard.
Monthly limit and email fallback
Your workspace's monthly quota is shown in Settings โ Notifications, with how many you have used. It resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
When the month's alerts are used up, or WhatsApp can't deliver one, new-lead alerts come to the workspace owners and admins by email instead, so you never miss a lead. Handover alerts always come by email too, as they always have. You get one email when the month's alerts are used up.
India
WhatsApp alerts don't travel over India's SMS networks, so the TRAI DLT registration that applies to business SMS doesn't apply to them. SMS to +91 numbers from Pivra may not be delivered (see SMS lead alerts), which is why we recommend WhatsApp alerts for owners in India.
Privacy
Meta delivers WhatsApp alerts through the WhatsApp Business Platform. Pivra keeps your WhatsApp number, a record of your consent and any opt-out. The customer details in an alert are kept for 30 days to deliver and troubleshoot it, then removed. See the Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| No reply after sending the code | Check you sent the message exactly as prepared, within 30 minutes, from WhatsApp (not SMS). If the code expired, get a new one from the card. |
| Alerts go to the wrong number | Choose Use a different number and link the right one. |
| The card says you replied STOP | Alerts are off for that number. Link it again from the card to turn them back on. |
| The card says the number isn't reachable | WhatsApp couldn't deliver three alerts in a row. Check the number still uses WhatsApp, then link it again. |
| No alert for a lead | Check the new-leads switch is on and the month's alerts aren't used up. The lead also arrives by email. |
