Pivra Desk for Windows

Personal AI for your Windows PC.It asks before it acts.

Pivra Desk for Windows is a local-first personal AI agent for Windows 10 and 11. It works across your files, browser and apps using a model on your PC or a cloud model you choose, and asks before consequential actions.

Give an agent a job: an article, invoice reminders, a research brief, a study plan. It drafts the work from your own files and apps and waits for your yes before anything is sent, paid or published. It lives in the system tray, so routines keep running after you close the window.

Requirements

What your PC needs.

Windows
64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
Memory
16 GB is comfortable for a model on your computer. The smallest models run on 8 GB.
Space
About 170 MB for the app, plus 0.5 to 7 GB if you choose a model that runs on this computer.
Account
None for the free plan. You sign in only for a paid plan.
Optional
Docker Desktop, if you want agents to run programs in an isolated container.

Install

Download, open, answer a few questions.

  1. 1

Download Pivra Desk for Windows. It is an installer (.exe).

  2. 2

Open the installer. Because the app is new, Windows may show a SmartScreen notice the first time: choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is signed, and the notice fades as more people install the app.

  3. 3

Follow the installer, then open Pivra Desk from the Start menu.

  4. 4

Setup asks where the model runs (on this PC, or with your own Claude or OpenAI API key), names your first agent and its job, offers Docker Desktop for technical users (you can skip it), and asks whether to share anonymous usage counts. That is off unless you turn it on.

Every step and every choice, in detail: Install Pivra Desk.

What it can do

Real jobs, from your own files and apps.

Six templates ship in the app. Each asks a few setup questions and says plainly what it will not do. Schedules stay off until you tick them on, and routines run while your computer is on.

Founders and marketers

Content & SEO

Drafts one useful article a day for your site (or LinkedIn, Medium or a newsletter if you have no site yet), checks how you show up in search, and can open the post as a pull request for you to approve. Never publishes by itself.

Freelancers and small businesses

Bookkeeper

Keeps a ledger from the invoices and receipts you share, tells you what is due, and drafts polite reminders you approve. It never pays, files or sends anything on its own.

Anyone with a question

Researcher

Looks things up on the web and in your files and writes a short brief with a link to every source. Says when sources disagree instead of guessing.

Graduates and job seekers

Job hunt

Tracks your applications, tailors your CV and cover letter to each role from what is true, and reminds you to follow up. You send everything yourself.

Students

Study planner

Turns your syllabus and exam dates into a daily plan and quizzes you from your own notes, citing the file for each answer.

Creators and small teams

Social media

Turns your posts, news and wins into ready-to-copy drafts for LinkedIn and X, in your voice. Drafts only: you copy and post.

Permissions

What it does on its own, and what waits for you.

Pivra Desk sorts every action by what it could change. The more it could change, the more it asks of you. You can add your own rules in plain words on top.

  1. Reading and searching

    Automatic

Looking at a file, a calendar or a web page never needs a click.

  2. Sending, publishing, paying, changing

    Asks you

Waits on a card that shows exactly what will happen: the recipient, the text, the file, the command.

  3. Money, deletes and deploys

    Critical

Needs a phrase you type before it runs. No agent moves money on its own.

Connected accounts ask for as little as they can

  • Google. Pivra’s built-in sign-in asks for your calendar (read only) and your account email. Sending through Gmail needs your own Google sign-in app for now; without one, approved emails are saved as drafts.
  • GitHub. Public repositories only, unless you opt in to private ones.
  • MCP servers. Remote and local servers, with sign-in; their write tools sit behind approval like any other.
  • Your keys and logins are sealed in a vault on your computer. With a model on your computer or your own key, your work does not go through Pivra’s servers.

On Windows

  • Programs run in Docker, or not at all. On Windows, the programs an agent writes run in Docker Desktop for now. Without Docker the agent still reads, searches, drafts and asks; it cannot run programs unless you allow them to run directly on this PC in Settings → Safety, which is off by default and not isolated. A built-in Windows sandbox is planned.
  • A typed phrase for critical actions. Money, deletes and deploys need a phrase you type before they run.
  • A model on your PC. Offline mode runs a built-in model on your computer with no key and no account. It suits reading, summaries and short tasks; long, multi-step work is better with a larger model.
  • Signed installer. The Windows app is signed through Azure Artifact Signing. The updater checks that a new build carries the same signature, never downgrades and never installs pre-releases.
