Updates

Pivra Desk keeps itself up to date. You do not need to download new versions by hand.

How it works

• The app checks for a new build every few hours from downloads.bluebirdtec.com. No account or content is involved.
• An update that was downloaded while you work installs by itself the next time you step away: only after 10 minutes without the keyboard or mouse, with nothing running and no decision waiting. Pivra Desk opens again in the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows), as before.
• The updater checks that a new build carries the same signature before installing it. It never downgrades and never installs pre-releases.

Check now, or install now

Open Settings → General → Updates.

• Check and update looks for a new version right away. You will see Checking for updates…, then either You're up to date. or the new version.
• If a version is ready, press Restart to update to install it now instead of waiting.

Turn automatic installs off

In the same place, switch off Install updates automatically while I'm away. The app still checks and tells you when a version is ready; you install it with Restart to update when it suits you.

If it cannot check

Couldn't check for updates. Check your internet connection and try again. means the app could not reach downloads.bluebirdtec.com. Try again when you are online; the app keeps working meanwhile.

If you installed Pivra Desk from somewhere other than pivra.ai (for example a development build), the Updates section says This copy doesn't update itself. Install Pivra Desk from pivra.ai/desk to get updates.

What is in each version

Each release's notes are in the Updates section when a version is ready. The current version is shown under Settings → General → About, with Copy diagnostics for support.
